Earthquake in Haiti

In 2010, Haiti was hit by a major earthquake that left the entire world shocked by the harsh scenes and the losses the country suffered.

As part of the global effort and in light of Yehuda's vast experience in rehabilitation, Yehuda was asked to join President Shimon Peres' delegation, which included doctors and physiotherapists with extensive experience and knowledge, in order to establish an initial rehabilitation system and to provide initial treatment for the casualties of the disaster.

Yehuda Philossof saw this proposal as a mission of the highest importance, and was entrusted with the task, believing that with the knowledge and experience he accumulated over the years, he will be able to provide solutions and initial responses to ensure that those injured will be able to return to their normal course of life.

During the trip, Yehuda met with a number of amputees and gave them preliminary treatment and diagnosis to prepare them for fitting prostheses in the future.

One of the most moving cases during Yehuda's visit to Haiti was the process of preparing the prosthesis for the main dancer and choreographer of the Haitian dance troupe who lost his leg in the earthquake.

George's story touched the heart of Yehuda. who decided to donate the prosthesis so that George could do the thing he loves most- dance...

Yehuda Philossof was happy to enroll to help weak communities that need treatment and rehabilitation and assume full daily functioning.
